meme book edition

Eric tagged me for this little meme, ‘Open Book'. These were the instructions:

1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open it at page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence/ phrase.
4. Blog the next four sentences/ phrases together with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig your shelves for that very special or intellectual book.
6. Pass it forward to six friends

Alright, don't laugh but the book that is literally right next to me (I didn't even have to get up) is Lights Out by R. L. Stine. I just finished rereading it yesterday. There's an old flea shop/ antique shop in town that I love going to from time to time. It's like stepping in a time machine. They have really expensive antiques that are fun to look at (but not touch) and then they have the good stuff. Old toys, movies, books, furniture, and tons of random stuff. At one time they had some really cool dinning room tables from the 80's (I think). Wow, let me stop rambling on. Basically it's like a museum that you can afford to buy some of the pieces. I saw the Stine books and couldn't help myself. I loved them as a kid.

Alright, the lines...

"After Uncle Bill's announcement Holly didn't feel much like eating. She stopped in the breakfast line for two cups of coffee, then wandered over to her uncle's office. The door was open, and he was just sitting at his desk, staring into space. 'Uncles Bill?'"

yeah, not too exciting.

Tomorrow, house update :) ...and check out my Tumble page to see a couple stupid camera phone pics I took today. Newnorth shorts

Also, I am copying Rachel from Find the I because I want to. She did a High. Low. Hero. post. It was for the week so I might do it every once in a while.

High - Singing and laughing with both my brothers. I kept singing silly songs and Yellow didn't think I would know the words and Dad asked what was wrong with me. S just started to sing a different song and called me a sheep after I switched to that song. And my brothers have been extra funny too.

Low - Getting into a fight with my little brother. We never fight and I was really hurt by it but eventually I realized it was probably the situation and stress. He has to have floors in the house by the 30th and we have been working everyday to try to get it done.

Hero - My brother Yellow for coming to help out with the house. He lightened the mood and lowered stress levels. Everyone got along better and my headache went away. Also, after the first day he brought speakers for my ipod. I think he got tired of me singing. :)

I haven't done this meme in a LONG time, so probably I'm overdue. Hope I have a different book on hand this time; it'd be kind of embarrassing to pick up the same book after like, a year and a half since the first go around.
:-}

Well, you know I don't do these, but I still like getting tagged!! So thanks!! Since half the tag is a link back and you've been on my blogroll for awhile anyway, I'll just do it here.

The nearest book to me was The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership. BO-RING!

"Yet at the same time he undermined him and backed other leaders within the organization. Anytime a promising leader rose up in the company, Henry tore him down. As a result the company kept losing its best executives. The few who stayed did so because of Edsel."

(How many people realized the Henry in that passage was Henry Ford?)
