roadtrip

Well, it's about time I head out. Monday's my last day at home. It's going to be a long road trip and, right now, that's what I'm most nervous about. But as long as I make it to the Tetons it will all be worth it.

I'm taking the trip in 8 days even though I only need 5. Giving myself, and my car, a few breaks on the way. The first two nights I'm staying at my Godmother's. I don't get to see her that often so I thought I would spend an extra day there. I'm trying to talk her into going to the Parthenon replica in Centennial park and whatever else we find to do if time allows. Then I'm stopping in St. Louis. If I'm brave I will end up at a hostel. The Huck Finn Hostel or something. I want to see the arch of course. I'm not sure if how much time I will end up spending there. Depends how lonely or overwhelming the city is.

Then I'm planning on ending up in Lincoln, maybe checking out the capitol, wander around. Then my last break is in Cheyenne. I'm not sure what to do in Cheyenne. Of course, I'll probably be to tired to do any of this but those are the plans. I wont be crushed if it doesn't work out.

---

It's going to be weird driving by myself. Well, the driving might be ok. I'm sure it will get old, but being alone in the evening... I've never made more then a day trip alone.

I'm trying to get everything together but I feel like I haven't gotten anything accomplished. You know the old chicken with it's head cut off. I don't know what it's going to be like there. I hope the people are cool. I hope I like it. I hope it's different. Something I wouldn't expect but something I never forget. Hopefully not boring. I can't imagine it being too boring.

I feel bad leaving the house before we've finished everything. We almost have the pool cleaned. If I'm lucky we will get it in swimable condition Sunday. I never knew how much chemicals you could put in a pool... and breaks between the chemicals. I'm trying to get all my stuff in a back closet out of the way. Completely clean my room of my stuff so it's a sort of guest room.

I don't know, I'm ready for it all to happen but can't get prepared.

I don't know how often I will be able to get online. I haven't been able to get on much lately and I think it's only going to get less often. I probably wont be able to get back to reading everyone's blog until October (it'll be like my birthday present to myself).

I'll miss all y'all and reading everyone's blogs.

Good luck, have fun, and be safe! I'm jealous of your adventure. I wish we could have updates ... but I understand what it's like to be on the road and far away.

Be careful out there, its a jungle! (thats what I say to my wife every morning as she leaves for work) Boring? I think there is not much chance of that. Cyber-see you in October.
